which visit every year on November 14 attention is invited. Because it is World Diabetes Day. “Feet” is the theme of the twelfth WDD. In several countries, including Belgium, has developed this theme with nature and city walks. World Diabetes Day is an initiative of the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization.
Age and diet
The strongest increase is observed in type 2 diabetic patients. Our Western lifestyle with high fat meals and lack of exercise is the major culprit. Once heard you often talk about “adult-onset diabetes. Type 2 diabetes came mainly at the population aged over 40. A remarkable shift has occurred. Besides, more and more seniors are young adults with this form of diabetes. In the United States has even identified all type 2 in children. The age will become increasingly lower. Obesity, caused by unhealthy eating and living habits, lies at the base.
